Nashville CEO to be Featured Speaker at U.S. Chamber of Commerce Conference on Workforce Development
YouScience CEO Philip Hardin to join leaders from Bank of America and FedEx for panel discussion on “Building Talent from Scratch”
Nashville, TN – Philip Hardin, CEO and co-founder of the Nashville-based edtech company YouScience, will join leaders from Bank of America and FedEx for a panel discussion on “Building Talent from Scratch” at the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s “Talent Forward: Workforce Challenges, Employer-Led Solutions” conference in Washington, D.C. on October 30.
Moderated by Education Week and PBS NewsHour journalist Lisa Stark, the panel will discuss the concept of “career readiness” and explore opportunities for employers to play a more active role in preparing the next generation of skilled workers.
“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is convening top business executives, policymakers, and influencers for a critical conversation about workforce development, and I am honored to be part of the discussion,” Hardin said. “At YouScience, we know there’s no shortage of talent in our nation – all Americans have the ability to play an important and valued role in our economy. However, they need meaningful guidance to truly maximize their natural aptitudes. Employers are instrumental to investing and nurturing a skilled workforce, and I look forward to sharing actionable strategies that can help develop a stronger pipeline of talent.”
The “Talent Forward” conference invites business and education leaders, human resource partners, and other community stakeholders to opportunities to grow, recruit, and better align talent to economic need. A live webcast of the full conference, which will take place from 9am – 5pm ET on Tuesday, October 30 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be available here.
“This year’s conference will shift the focus away from simply talking about the challenges of the education and workforce systems,” said Cheryl Oldham, Senior Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Center for Education and Workforce. “YouScience and other speakers know well the challenges we face, and will engage in meaningful discussion around the solutions that are resulting in real change across the country for the workforce of today and tomorrow.”
